From the ghetto clubs of South-Central Los Angeles to International fame, William Clarke will go down as one of the greatest and most innovative blues harmonica players of all time. Clarke’s life was marked with much adversity and many challenges. From a tough upbringing to the throes of alcoholism, Clarke persevered through determination and hard work to become a brilliant soulful player, vocalist, songwriter, entertainer and producer. He left behind a rich legacy through the many great albums he produced that have endured the test of time and will continue to do so. He was a harmonica player’s harmonica player and should always hold a spot in the heart of all blues musicians and fans.
