The book includes full score for the conductor and parts for each individual instrument. PYRRHIC DANCE: Inspired by dances depicted on ancient Greek plates and vases, this complex and brooding score reflects the conflicting moods felt by warriors as they demonstrated their physical strength and agility before heading off to battle. It is proud and celebratory, yet foreshadows the uncertainty that lay ahead. GERANOS DANCE: A tune custom-made for Greek folk dancing, with communal spirit and an upbeat, optimistic outlook. There is constant implied motion that grows more and more hectic as the dancers, all holding hands in a circle, would weave together and tie themselves into knots.
