Contactology is a specialty within Optometry. In order to properly fit a contact lens, refractive problems must be evaluated, as well as different parameters and the physiology and anatomy of the eye. Contact lens fitting should seek to obtain the maximum tolerance of the lens and the maximum possible visual acuity while minimizing possible complications for the patient. Within the optometry consultation, and in this case contact lenses, we can find a variety of cases, some of them more complex and requiring special adaptations and knowledge in this field.
