Algunos amigos se reconocerán en los cuentos y aclara, el autor, que cualquier parecido con la realidad es mera coincidencia. Algunos de los cuentos son jocosos y otros penosos, pero no se guíe el lector de nombres y lugares que son todos imaginarios. Además algunas de las especies son hoy protegidas por la ley. La calidad de las fotos se debe también a la antigüedad de las mismas.El autor nos escribe: "Espero los disfruten como yo lo hice escribiendo y recordando. Este primer volumen relata mis inicios y algunas salidas por caza mayor en mi país, el Perú, yo soy aficionado también a la caza menor, y también he intercambiado algunas cacerías con amigos de afuera que serán motivo de los siguientes capítulos. He cazado desde Canadá a Tierra del Fuego y trato de seguirlo haciendo hasta que las energías me lo permitan. Saludos y buena caza."
