Negli ultimi anni, l’inclusione sociale dei gruppi vulnerabili è cresciuta come concetto teorico. Tuttavia, mancano esempi di strumenti pratici per migliorarla. Questo libro, quindi, fornisce una nuova traiettoria di ricerca che si concentra su approcci partecipativi ed emancipativi. Questa ricerca dovrebbe contribuire a far luce su questi nuovi approcci, particolarmente utili per i professionisti nel campo della disabilità. Nella prima parte del libro viene presentata un’analisi approfondita della letteratura sulle principali pubblicazioni accademiche sul significato di inclusione e disabilità. Segue un focus sugli approcci partecipativi ed emancipativi per collegarli ai concetti di cittadinanza attiva e di azioni socialmente innovative. Nella seconda parte del libro vengono riportati e analizzati due casi di studio relativi ad approcci partecipativi ed emancipativi come esempio di miglioramento dell’inclusione, attraverso il coinvolgimento e la partecipazione delle persone con disabilità. Questo libro contribuisce a fornire una base di conoscenze che favorisce il passaggio da una situazione di passività, malattia e cura del paziente a un nuovo scenario basato sull’impegno e sul ruolo attivo della persona.
