Diese Fallstudie besteht aus einer Diagnose der Realität der Integration von gehörlosen Schülern in regulären Klassen der städtischen Grundschule 'Dom Alonso' in der Stadt Soure PA. Ziel ist es, ausgehend von der Diagnose die Integration dieser Schüler, ihre wichtigsten Herausforderungen und Fortschritte im Lehr- und Lernprozess zu problematisieren. Die Studie stützt sich in erster Linie auf die Veröffentlichungen von Mantoan und anderen Wissenschaftlern, die sich mit Inklusion, der Geschichte der Gehörlosigkeit und der Bildung beschäftigen, sowie auf nationale und internationale offizielle Dokumente, die jedem das Recht auf Bildung im regulären Bildungssystem garantieren. Der in der explorativen Forschung gewählte Ansatz bevorzugte die qualitative Forschungsmethode. Die Forschungssubjekte waren drei gehörlose Schüler, ihre jeweiligen Lehrer und Erziehungsberechtigten sowie der Koordinator für Sonderpädagogik der Gemeinde Soure.
