Esposti a molteplici fattori di rischio prima e durante l’accoglienza, i bambini affidati hanno un’alta prevalenza di disturbi internalizzanti. Questi disturbi possono ostacolare la loro integrazione familiare, sociale e scolastica. L’obiettivo di questa tesi è quello di tracciare un ritratto dei bambini in accoglienza con disturbi internalizzanti, al fine di identificarli meglio e sostenere meglio loro e gli adulti che si occupano di loro. Il campione è composto da 62 bambini, di età compresa tra i 10 e i 12 anni, collocati in affidamento regolare e coinvolti nel progetto SOCEN. Quasi il 19% dei 62 bambini presenta sintomi emotivi elevati. I risultati rivelano un’elevata presenza di disturbi esternalizzanti (disturbi iperattivi, disturbi della condotta) nei bambini in affidamento con alti sintomi emotivi. Questi bambini hanno anche maggiori problemi con i coetanei. Quelli che hanno avuto più di tre collocamenti mostrano più sintomi emotivi elevati.
