'La recherche existante en commerce international reconnaît discrètement la présence de convergences théoriques concernant l’image d’un pays (par exemple, le pays d’origine, l’image de marque du pays, l’image de marque de la nation) et la réputation d’un pays. Pourtant, aucune théorie sur la réputation d’un pays n’est solidement ancrée dans la littérature. Dans ce contexte, les principales théories utilisées dans cette étude interdisciplinaire sont tirées des principes de réputation, également ancrées dans la théorie du pays d’origine et alignées sur la stratégie de marque nationale, tout en étant soutenues par des stratégies de marque nationale (y compris le marketing, la communication et les relations publiques). La nécessité de ces liens théoriques significatifs permet de combler une lacune dans les connaissances en sciences sociales appliquées en ce qui concerne la gestion de la réputation d’un pays'. Cette recherche a été financée par la Fundação CAPES, ministère de l’éducation du Brésil.
