Questo libro è incentrato su uno studio che ha esplorato il processo di gestione del cambiamento nella formazione degli insegnanti in cinque università private del Kenya. Lo studio ha rivelato che i fattori che guidavano il cambiamento erano: la necessità di qualità nella formazione degli insegnanti, le questioni emergenti come l’HIV/AIDS, la tecnologia, la globalizzazione, le forze di mercato e la Kenya Vision 2030. Il team di gestione ha seguito il giusto processo nell’implementazione dei cambiamenti e in alcuni casi ha cercato vie alternative. Il test Mann-Whitney U ha rivelato una differenza statisticamente significativa tra il coinvolgimento degli educatori e degli apprendisti nel processo di cambiamento. Anche i coefficienti di correlazione Spearman rho tra i livelli di coinvolgimento degli educatori e dei tirocinanti e le valutazioni sulla gestione del cambiamento sono risultati significativi. I fattori che hanno facilitato il processo di cambiamento sono stati: la dedizione per migliorare l’apprendimento degli studenti, l’impegno per il cambiamento strategico del curriculum e le strategie alternative hanno portato a una gestione efficace del cambiamento, mentre il sovraccarico, le informazioni insufficienti, la mancanza di formazione e di risorse sono stati ostacoli.
