Este livro centra-se num estudo que explorou o processo de gestão da mudança na formação de professores em cinco universidades privadas do Quénia. O estudo revelou que os factores que impulsionaram a mudança foram: a necessidade de qualidade na formação de professores, questões emergentes como o VIH/SIDA, a tecnologia, a globalização, as forças de mercado e a Visão 2030 do Quénia. A equipa de gestão seguiu o devido processo na implementação das mudanças e, em certos casos, procurou formas alternativas. O teste U de Mann-Whitney revelou que havia uma diferença estatisticamente significativa entre o envolvimento dos formadores de professores e dos formandos de professores no processo de mudança. Os coeficientes de correlação de Spearman rho entre os níveis de envolvimento dos formadores de professores e dos formandos de professores e as classificações sobre a gestão da mudança também foram significativos. Os factores que facilitaram o processo de mudança foram: a dedicação para melhorar a aprendizagem dos alunos, o empenho na mudança estratégica do currículo e as estratégias alternativas conduziram a uma gestão eficaz da mudança, enquanto a sobrecarga, a informação insuficiente, a falta de formação e de recursos constituíram obstáculos.
